F. Xavier Medina
Doctoral degree holder in Social Anthropology. Academic and programme director and professor in the Department of Food Systems, Culture and Society at the UOC's Faculty of Health Sciences. His main field of research is the anthropology of food. He is currently Director of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya's UNESCO Chair on Food, Culture and Development. He is also Chair of the International Commission on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (ICAF). He has published several books and about a hundred papers, mainly on food studies.
