Joan Fuster

Ph.D. in History from Pompeu Fabra University, graduate in Philosophy and Arts (History) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and postgraduate in Executive Management of Artistic and Cultural Institutions, and Executive Management of Services Marketing from ESADE. He is currently Dean of the UOC's Faculty of Arts and Humanities, where he has been an associate professor since 2001. He is a member of the Parliamentary History Group, a consolidated research group at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and has been academic director of the Menéndez Pelayo International University's centre in Barcelona since 2007.

Gisela Grañena

Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition with a certificate in Statistics and Evaluation from the University of Maryland. Graduate in English with a minor in Linguistics, and postgraduate in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), both from the University of Barcelona. M.A. in Intercultural Communication from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Joseph Ellsworth Hopkins

M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has over 25 years of experience in foreign language teaching in the United States and Spain. In 2001, he was appointed coordinator of the English language courses at the UOC, where he is currently Director of the Centre for Modern Languages.

Laia Canals Fornons

Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (2007). After working as a Spanish and academic writing teacher at different colleges in New York (Hunter College, Brooklyn College and NYU), she held a postdoctoral researcher and teaching position in the Language Didactics Department at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for three years. She was the content manager for Open Education Europa portal and chief editor of the e-journal eLearning Papers from 2012 to 2014. She currently teaches at the Centre for Modern Languages, where she coordinates advanced English courses

Christine Appel

Graduate in English Language and Literature from the University of Aarhus and M.Phil. in Applied Linguistics and Ph.D. from Trinity College, University of Dublin. Her main research interests are the use of ICT in education, communication within virtual environments, second language acquisition and corpus linguistics.

Montse Guitert Catasús

Ph.D. in Education Sciences from the University of Barcelona (1995). Director of the Digital Skills area and coordinator of the ICT Skills course since it began in 1995. She also teaches on the Master's Degree in Education and ICT, coordinating the Online Teaching pathway. She has been the principal investigator of the Edul@b research group since 2009.

Jackie Robbins

Master in Applied Linguistics from the Open University (United Kingdom). Now, she is working on her thesis, which is focused on the role of the language teacher in the classroom. Her lines of research are pedagogical innovation in the field of language learning, the design of tasks to develop written and oral skills, and the development of languages tests.

Ana Rosso Herrero

PhD in comparative literature from the University of Exeter (United Kingdom). After working as a professor of literature and languages (English, French, Italian, and Spanish) at the University of Exeter, she worked for seven years at the British Council in Bangkok, Thailand. Now, she is responsible for French subjects at the Centre for Modern Languages.
